A Mac drive with room to spare
Your files in Finder. More room on your Mac.
Keep what you need on hand, and let the rest live in storage you own.
In development for macOS.
A library bigger than your laptop
You have a 200 GB library and 18 GB free on your Mac. You want to work with a few files, without making space for the whole collection.
Leeway makes the library available in Finder and fetches file content as it’s needed. Choose the files you want kept on hand. The rest can stay in your storage.
This is the demo story we’re building toward, not a benchmark. Local use depends on the files you open, what you keep on hand, and available space. Fetching content requires a connection to your storage.
A familiar place for your files
Browse your library in the place you already work. Open the files you need without first downloading the whole drive.
Choose files and folders to keep locally. Check their status before you rely on them; keeping content on hand takes disk space.
Your file data lives in a bucket you control. You choose the storage account and keep control of its credentials.
For people working with agents
Publish a snapshot for an agent to work from. Give it a defined version of the files, while you keep working on your drive.
A snapshot is a point-in-time copy. It gives the work a clear starting point; it does not replace the permissions you set for your agent.
Yours, from the start
Leeway connects your Mac to storage you control. Your bucket and its credentials belong to you.
Ownership should include the ability to leave. The exit plan is to copy your files out through the mounted drive while your storage and metadata remain available.
The bucket’s raw objects are not a browsable folder of original files. Keep your metadata and credentials as well as your stored data.
In sailing, the lee is the sheltered side of a ship. Leeway is the room it has to drift without hitting the shore. That’s the idea: a little room, with clear limits.
